Help and FAQ

Getting started, installing Yusr, answers to common questions, and a plain list of what Yusr does not do.

Getting started

  1. Log inThe private preview is limited to its owner for now. Log in with the account that has access.
  2. Your planYour plan holds your data. Sharing it with other people through a plan code isn't available during the owner-only preview.
  3. Enter one balanceType in one real balance and you'll see your first real number on a dashboard that's yours.

Install Yusr on your device

Yusr is a web app, so there is nothing to download from an app store. In browsers that support installing web apps you can add it to your home screen or desktop and it opens in its own window.

  1. Chrome or Edge (computer or Android)Open the browser menu and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen). An install icon may also appear in the address bar.
  2. Safari on iPhone or iPadTap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.

What we checked: the app declares a name, icons and a standalone display mode, and Chromium reports no installability problems. We haven't tested installing on an iPhone, and menu wording changes between browsers and versions. If you don't see an install option, Yusr works fine in a normal tab.

Questions

Do I have to connect my bank?

Not today. You enter your balances and transactions yourself. Connecting your bank accounts is planned for every plan, and we will update the privacy policy before it launches.

What does Yusr cost?

It is free today. The plans, the planned Premium tier and the pricing questions are on the Pricing page.

Can I sign up for Yusr?

Not at the moment. Yusr is a private preview with access limited to its owner, and nothing in it asks for payment details.

Can I keep track of donations and receipts?

Yes. The Giving tab logs gifts to charities, Sadaqah and other giving, with a tick for each official receipt, and shows an estimate of the federal credit. See Giving.

I have a question about Zakat.

The Zakat page answers it: how the nisab value works, whether Yusr is a religious authority, and whether it works if you are not Muslim.

Does Yusr track TFSA and RRSP contribution room?

Yes, as an estimate. Enter the room CRA gives you (TFSA from CRA My Account, RRSP from your Notice of Assessment) and Yusr subtracts the contributions you log. It also estimates FHSA room and RESP/CESG room. See Planning.

How do I back up my data?

In Settings, open Plan & sharing and use Export backup (.json). The file holds everything you've entered and stays with you. You can import it again from the same place.

How do I delete my data?

In Settings, open Plan & sharing and use Delete account & data. If other people share your plan, use Leave household instead.

Who can see my plan?

In the current preview only the owner has access. By design, anyone you give a plan's code to can read and edit that plan. See For Households and the privacy policy.

Is Yusr available in French?

Yes: switch between English and French in the header. A few small labels inside the app may still appear in English.

What Yusr does not do

  • Connect to your bank or import transactions yet. Bank connection is planned.
  • Fetch live gold or silver prices for the Zakat nisab.
  • Calculate TFSA or RRSP room from your income. You enter the figure CRA gives you.
  • Track your credit score or build custom reports.
  • Offer view-only or per-person permissions in a shared plan.
  • Send email or text alerts.

Privacy and contact

Read the privacy policy for what Yusr stores and who can see it; its Contact section explains how to reach us about your data. Inside the app, the Help button sends us a message. We don't publish a response time.

Already have access?

Private preview. Bank connection is planned.
